John Dutton (Kevin Costner) frequently seems to “forget.” He loses his Montana accent and goes back to the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses. “Yellowstone” is a solidly written drama — great characters, well-crafted — that draws its tone from a few different modern masterpieces.
I didn’t expect to get as drawn into this show as I did
It has the feel and cinematography of Longmire, the plot and grim outlook of “The Sopranos,” and the dramatic momentum of shows like “Dynasty” or any of the other similar network dramas. Huge respect has to go to Costner and Cole Hauser — these guys 100% nailed it.
